HOW TO DEFINE THE MAGNETISM:

The magnetism is first of all a common word of our language which applies to the properties of different magnetized metals or still to the magnetic field propagating at the level of the surface of the globe. Up to here nothing again, we are in known ground and nobody will think of noticing these big well sat truths … But under the same word hides another force, much less known and often disputed.

This powerful force is present in every human being and probably as well to certain animals as the dog and the cat … Certain persons shine little or practically not; others, on the contrary possess a natural magnetism indeed over the average. The high natural magnetism is thus what one can call a gift and as any gift, he can and should be cultivated, amplified and "domesticated" especially by that or the one who will want to use it to relieve his fellow man.

HISTORY AND PERSONALITIES:

It is above all a method of care which allows to cure a big number of good-hearted affections but also to relieve, to see to cure certain troubles which resist very often to the usual treatments. This real action of the human magnetism is not another exact science, in the sense where many parameters are still unknown nowadays. The curative magnetism is neither a temporary fashion, nor a recent technique taken out of the imagination of one of our contemporaries.

One finds the laying on of hands in very ancient stories; Jesus Christ and the Egyptian priests were already cured with the hands. A famous Roman emperor, Vespasien, was endowed with an indisputable magnetic power. Of his real name Titus Flavius Vespasianus, he reigned from 69 to 79, year of his death. Vespasien usually used his power to relieve and cure his subjects. A Roman author of the name of Tacit brings back the cure by the emperor of 2 men : the one almost blind and the other one paralyzed by a hand, in front of a crowd of persons, among which of the doctors.

The first one who really made known the curative magnetism in France was a doctor: Franz Anton Mesmer, who lived from 1734 till 1815 and who made loud noise in his time. He based the theory of the animal magnetism or mesmerism and fought all his life against the quite powerful Academy of medicine which did not want to recognize the reality of his theories. Mesmer looked by laying on of hands, as all the hypnotizers, but he could also treat the patients by the only magnetic force of his glance. He also invented devices which allowed to treat an important number of patients in special tubs (Mesmer's " banquets " ). These devices were in lounges frequented by the high society of time. Mesmer was awarded a diploma by the Faculty of Medicine of Vienna and spent his doctorate in theology at the age of 16!
